Is it Copyrighting or Copyright?

A commonly misunderstood term used a lot on the internet these days is copywriting. Although the words copywriting and copyright have a common root, they are not the same and mean entirely different things. A company uses the term copywriting to promote their products or services.

With the recent increase of importance involving the search engine optimization web copywriting has sky rocketed in value. A good copywriter who can spin articles in an explicit style can demand top dollars in his field. These highly popular articles are known in the copywriting circles as SEO articles written with specific key words in mind. The search engines recognize these particular keywords and consequently the articles are elevated in rank with the search engines. A case in point would be "Word Writer Services".

Should you type these words into Yahoo search engine any article or writing, which appears on a web page that has these particular words in sequence, would show up in the results.

Although the internet is proving to be the testing grounds for many copywriters, the trade does not end with the 'net. Any ad agency in America and abroad employs copywriters to crank out effective ad copy. These ad copies have created a huge industry the commercial companies rely heavily upon their copywriters to fetch additional customers with their writing.

The consumer will ignore an advertisement that failed to make good sense or may not be understandable and in turn the consumer will ignore the product or services. Ads have often been used to sway the readers or viewers into leaning towards a certain point of view as in the upcoming political advertisements. Another example of ads, which attempt to sway individual, are all the many anti-smoking ads. Both the federal government and private concerns created these ads.

The demand for freelance copywriters has jumped drastically. A recent check with GetAFreelancer.com reveals 266 different copywriter positions available. The demand for quality copywriters is just fabulous.

Let us face it - it is much less expensive for a company to outsource their writing requirements then it is to hire and provide benefits to an employee to do the same work. With keeping their overhead low it makes it totally feasible to have greater profit margins.

Many of the requirements for these companies may differ according to what the company does and precisely what is necessary to be written. The requirements for positions such as these are simple. First, you must be able to write in proper English. I stress proper English as many time the bidders on these types of jobs are from Mid-east countries. Having some job writing experience can be very important.

In conclusion the phenomenon of Copywriting appears in all aspects of our life - Radio, TV, - you name it and you will find it unknowingly amidst us every single day. It is generally taken for granted as we thumb through our favorite magazine or glance at our daily newspaper. So, during your next surfing of the 'net think about how this information come to appear on the site and possible why. Now your talking Copywriting!
